Sara Morante exhibition flows between the main characters present in her illustrations (portraits, orchards, spaces and weavings) and the artist’s most personal sphere. The show goes in depth into her creation process, a chaos of pieces that make sense when the artist connect them in the final canvas, through two of her most significant works, La vida de las paredes (written and illustrated by the artist. Lumen, 2015) and Los zapatos rojos (Hans Christian Andersen, Impedimenta, 2011).
This journey through ten years of her work invites us to meet an evocative visual narrator who, citing the words of the exhibition curator, Carmen Lascurain Gómez, “far from a falsely precious and easy appearance, she proposes complex scenes portrayed with depth, ambivalence , surprise and humor. Thus, the everyday objects present in her studio are added into the visual fiction”.
