The artist Rafael Muro (born in Santander in 1955) presents in the exhibition some thirty recent works in which he reveals his findings as an abstract painter, as outstanding as he is isolated, independent, and atypical. This does not mean that his painting is disconnected from the evolution of the discipline in recent decades. Muro assumes varied manners and methods by developing poetics directly derived from workshop practice, the true origin of his artistic work. His images are created in the unreal space of what is plastic by means of a mechanism of depositing pictorial matter, a stain which adheres to the canvas horizontally and evolves in a random manner without much intervention from the artist, who could define his work as a wait for the appearance of what is concealed.
