HOMENAJE. COLECCIÓN ACB
Cultural Center “Los Arenales”
Santander, June 2022
The ACB Collection is a family project created by the late Alberto Corral and his wife Bárbara de Rueda that treasures the memories of the people in their lives, a collection of experiences and affections preserved through artworks, kept in Madrid and in their residence in Queveda (Santillana del Mar).
In the last few years, the collector has continued to enrich this collection, which is as extensive as it is non-judgemental, and her acquisitions include four main areas: – An outstanding presence of the material transformed into a plastic vision, as shown by the examples of Carlos Bunga, Carlos Irijalba and Cecilia Paredes; – Photography of the contemporary city and of interiors that provoke a special fascination, with outstanding international artists such as Thomas Ruff, Gabriele Basilico, Vicenzo Castella and Marlón de Azambuja; – A nucleus of polysophisticated sculptures and sculptures of the most important artists in the world, such as Thomas Ruff, Gabriele Basilico, Vicenzo Castella and Marlón de Azambuja. – A nucleus of polysemic sculptures, full of allusions to the history of art or the artist’s work: pieces by Saelia Aparicio, Jorge Perianes and Pedro Mora are among them. – New figurations, such as those by Todd James, Francisco Mendes Moreira, Jesús Alberto Pérez Castaños (JACP) and Sergio Mora have recently been added to the collection.
